The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of a hospital quality improvement program on the use of oral anticoagulants in hospitalized patients with atrial fibrillation at risk for ischemic stroke. The study evaluates whether improved adherence to the guidelines for oral anticoagulant usage in atrial fibrillation will reduce the risk of ischemic stroke compared to the prior standard of care.
